DIY Rheology Hub

About Us

The DIY Rheology Hub is an homepage providing access to “do-it-yourself” (DIY) low-cost rheology instruments.

Soft, stretchy, and sticky materials are a part of our daily life. While we personally interact through our senses, it is more challenging to access reliable quantitative data on rheological properties such as viscosity, yeild stress, or modulus. The DIY Rheo Hub puts the power in your hand to build and experiment with simple and accessible rheometer designs that you can make yourself

Below, you will find a collection of curated links to instruction manuals, CAD design files to build and use your own rheological device

Designs are available for all ages to test soft materials and complex fluids at a range of cost points and construction difficulties

Funded by the Society of Rheology’s Rheology Venture Fund (2025).
